Dear Panther Staff and Families,
Happy St. Patrick’s Day Weekend!!! While it doesn’t quite feel like spring break, I hope all of you are able to enjoy family and recharge.

School Perceptions Surveys - (please review both parent survey and student survey information below)
*Parent Survey
The Pine Island Public School District cares deeply about our students. We are always looking for ways to improve their educational experience and form a stronger partnership with you, our parents. To help us accomplish this goal we are conducting a parent survey to help us understand what we are doing well and where we need to improve. We have hired School Perceptions, an independent educational research firm, to conduct the survey and ensure all responses are kept confidential. We are asking that all parents respond to a survey that will be sent out on March 30. The survey will be open from March 30 through April 10 at 5:00 PM. If you do not receive an email invitation to complete the survey, please check your “spam/junk” folder or contact the district office for assistance.
We value your comments and suggestions, and strongly encourage you to participate in this important survey. Together, we will continue to shape the future of Pine Island Schools.
*Student Survey
Beginning on 3/30/23, students in the Pine Island School District (grades 4-12) will also have the opportunity to participate in the School Perceptions Student Life Survey.
The survey is designed to measure student’s engagement at school. It will provide our district with answers to important questions, such as:
*What practices and policies help our students learn, and what barriers are in the way?
*Do students feel supported?
*What could be done to increase student involvement, both in and out of the classroom?
The survey is online and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Once the survey is done, the District will receive a summary report that will not include confidential or identifiable information. The purpose for the survey is to ensure that our practices are positively meeting the needs of our students. Any trend data will be used in our upcoming strategic planning to ensure continuous improvement.
This survey is designed ONLY to reflect on the engagement and opportunities for our students. However, if you would like to preview the survey, it is available in the district office. If you would prefer that your student not participate, please return the opt out form which is provided here for your convenience.
