Hi!
Welcome to 7th grade history! I have been a part of Pine Island Public Schools since 1996 as a teacher and coach in both cross country and track and field. In 7th grade we have military veterans come in and share their experiences which has been a great learning experience for students. Many students ask grandparents or other family members to come in. We play the Stock Market Game each year and students have done well finishing at the top of the state multiple years in a row. Current events are a part of class through a student news site. Some of the learning opportunities are the invention project and 1920's assignment which includes learning The Charleston. We complete a book study called "Surviving Hitler" about the Holocaust which is eye opening for many.
