Announcements for October 19:

*Juniors registered for the ACT Prep course should report to the forum room from 8 AM - 12 PM on Monday, Nov. 1 with laptops, pencil, notebook, and calculator! 


*REMINDER – No School on Thursday and Friday this week. (October 21 & 22)

Announcements for October 18:

*Congratulations to the PIZM boys varsity, as they defeated Mankato Loyola/LCWM/St. Clair/Madelia 3-2, in the semifinals. The PIZM team is undefeated 15-0-2. The championship game will happen this Thursday at 5pm in Austin.


*FAN BUS sign Up

On Thursday, Oct 21, we will be offering a fan bus for the 5:00 Section 2A section final in Austin for Boys Soccer. The fan bus cost will be $10 which needs to be paid at time of sign up. Anyone younger than 7th grade needs an adult to ride with them. Cost of the ticket will be paid at the gate of $5 for students and $8 for adults. Sign up for the fan bus in the 5-12 office during the following hours:

Monday – 8am - 7:00pm

Tuesday – 7:30am – 3:45pm

Wednesday – 7:30am - Noon

Bus will leave from the back of the high school at 3:30. Deadline to sign up is noon on Wednesday.


*Reminder to juniors who registered for the ACT Prep course... The first class will take place on Monday, November 1st. Students should report to Mrs. Organ's room at 8 AM and will transition to Mrs. Kohner's room at 10 AM. Expect to be done about 12 PM. Please arrive with a pencil, notebook, and calculator.


*With this long weekend coming up it is a great opportunity to get your rough draft for a VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) competition.  Entry forms can be gotten from our English or Social Studies teachers.  The final essay will be collected on October 28th.

* Financial Aid Night
Monday, October 18th, 6:00 PM

Presenter: Eric Mesa from Rochester Community and Technical College

Location: PIHS Forum Room

Pine Island High School’s annual financial aid information night will be held on Monday, October 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the Forum Room.  The information covered in this presentation is especially relevant for seniors who will be applying for financial aid for the 2022-2023 academic year. Parents of 9th,10th, and 11th graders who wish to get a head start on learning about the financial aid process are also welcome.


Topics addressed will include:

  • Types of financial aid
  • General Eligibility requirements
  • Calculating financial need
  • Applying for aid
  • The Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) 


*The gymnastics PAC meeting will be Sunday October 24th at 5pm in the forum room at Pine Island high school.


*Seniors- If you are not having professional senior pictures taken, but would like to have one for the yearbook, please stop by or contact Mr. Smith. Yearbook staff is more than willing to take a photo for you. Right now, while the weather is still nice and the leaves are changing, is a great time for us to take some photos of you for the senior pages in the book.


* Stage Crew - Are you interested in theater but nervous to perform on stage? Do you want to be part of an amazing show but missed auditions? Have you always wondered what it would like to run the lights and sound in the theater? Do you like the work in the dark? If so, the stage crew wants you! Sign up on the sheet outside Mrs. Laack's room and look for an email at the end of the week with more information!

*Upcoming College and Military Admission Representative Visits

College Admission Representatives and Military recruiters will be making high school visits once again this year. Information about when a specific college or military is scheduled to visit the high school can be found here. This document will be updated as visits are scheduled.  

 *Panther Pals child care program is looking for high school students to work after school, non-school, and summer. You must be at least 14 years old. Please contact Jennie Barker at
