STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS – October 23rd, 2018

Post Prom will be having it’s annual pizza sales fundraiser this coming Friday and Saturday, October 26th and 27th. Students and parents will be coming door to door with pizzas, soup, and mini donuts.  Direct sales in front of the fire hall will also be available on Friday evening from 5 pm - 7 pm and Saturday from 10 am - 2 pm.  

If you would like to pre-order your items now, please email pineislandpostprom@gmail.com.  Items will be delivered on Saturday morning Oct. 27.

Rage Volleyball 2018-2019

Rage Offering: Rage Volleyball will offer teams in the 11U – 18U age divisions. 

Practice: Weekly Sundays @Pi Schools: Dec 2 through April 28th

Cost: 11U / 12U Teams - $200 Due before November 15th, 2018

           13U and up - $300 Due before November 15th, 2018

* Note this cost does not include game jersey deposit,  NCRUSAV fee or extended season costs.

This past Friday, the Pine Island FFA Dairy, General Livestock, Horse and Poultry teams competed CDE competitions at the University of Wisconsin River Falls. Our Pine Island FFA teams all did their best at this regional contest. The top eleven dairy teams, eight horse teams, and nine general livestock teams advance to state in April. The PI dairy team placed 7th and will advance. General Livestock placed 16th, Horse judging placed 17th, and our poultry placed 4th. Good job to everyone who competed and congrats Dairy!

Friday November 2nd Middle School Student Council will host their first 7th and 8th grade dance. It will be a neon theme dance and will go from 7pm until 9pm in the Maroon gym. We are in need of parent chaperones. If you would like to chaperone please email Jessica Zielinski at jzielinski@pineisland.k12.mn.us

Any Sr. that is involved in Athletics, the Arts, and has at least a 3.00 GPA is a candidate for the MSHSL Triple AAA Award, which recognizes excellence in Athletics, the Arts, and Academics.  To find the information and paperwork that is necessary to be a candidate, they should go to the mshsl.org website, click on Recognitions, and then go to the 2018 Triple AAA Award Nomination Form.  Please have the forms completed by November 15, 2008, and turn in to the Pine Island Activities Director Craig Anderson.

The Gymnastics PAC Meeting will be on November 1st, at 7:00 pm, in the Pine Island 5-12 Building Choir Room.

The 2018-2019 Prom Committee is currently looking for 10th grade students to be Prom Attendants for the 2019 Prom! You will be helping in a variety of different areas for this year’s prom and will plan the 2019-2020 prom. If you have any questions or would like an application, please see Ms. Zielinski.

October is College Knowledge Month! In honor of College Knowlege Month, the Minnesota State University System (both 2-year and 4-year) will be waiving college application fees October 22-26th. If you need help completing (or starting) your college applications stop by Ms. Garcia's office for assistance. Free application week will be advertised as Oct 22-26

A representative from St. Mary's University of Minnesota will be visiting PIHS on November 1st at 1:00 p.m. Please stop in the office for a pass if you are interested in learning more about St. Mary's University.

Yearbook- the 2017-2018 high school yearbook is in and has been distributed to students. All 2018 graduates can pick theirs up in the HS office. If you have a sibling we will be sending it home with them.

Extra Yearbooks-There are a limited number of extra 2017-2018 high school yearbooks available for purchase the cost is $63.14. Checks can be made out to "Pine Island Yearbook".

This is a reminder that if you ride a bike to school you need to park it in the bike rack and not in the front of the school.  

This year, ala carte items are now in the Snack Bar (concession stand).  No waiting in line to purchase beverages, snacks or Annies Frozen Yogurt..
Open at 7:30 – 8:30am for breakfast.
Open at 10:45am everyday before lunch.
