The Middle School Student Council is hosting their annual food drive until December 7th!  This year students will be competing against advisories in each grade to bring in the most pounds of food. The food drive is in need of items such as cooking oil, applesauce, canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, granola bars, pasta, meals in a box, peanut butter and rice.  Last year grades 5-8 were able to bring in more than 600 pounds of food. Let’s try to beat that this year.  Please contact Jessica Zielinski at jzielinski@pineisland.k12.mn.us with any questions.

Post Prom Fundraiser –
We have Kwik Trip carwash cards for sale from now until they are gone for $36 each.  They are preloaded with 5 Ultimate carwashes at most KT in the surrounding areas.  One ultimate wash normally costs $10 so paid at the store you would pay $50 for 5 and they are only $36 for 5.  A great gift idea for teens that are driving and adults.  Especially with Christmas and winter with salt and sand on the roads.

If you have any questions please contact Michele Sisell via Facebook or email at msisell@gmail.com

Pine Island Minnesota Honor Society is seeking donations for a winter bash project. Students plan to make tie fleece blankets to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Any cash or fleece donation would be much appreciated. If interested in donating or if you have any questions, please contact the staff advisor, Kristi Muston, at kmuston@pineisland.k12.mn.us.

On the afternoon of December 21st, all PIHS (grades 9-12) students will be completing service projects. Students wishing to complete projects of their own choosing must complete the attached service application, which requires parent permission, and return it to the HS office no later than Monday, December 3rd. Click here for access to the application.

Students and Parents in Grades 9-12:
We would like to invite you to ask your family to participate in the 3rd Annual Grandparent Bingo.

After Bingo, your grandparents are invited to watch two holiday theatrical performances, in the auditorium with you from  9:40-11:00 am.  These plays will be performed by students in the Pine Island High School Theater classes.  At 11:05, students will be dismissed to complete community service projects or to spend time with a grandparent in an activity or project if you have completed an application by December 3rd.  You have received a link to the application by email, as well as received a paper copy during your PROWL.

PIHS is hosting its 2nd annual career & job fair on January 28, 2019 during the school day.

We are looking for a variety of reps--military, trades, certifications, 2- and 4-year college and beyond--to meet the interests of all students. Last year 1/2 of our reps had a connection to Pine Island as residents or business owners, alumni, parents, or other relatives of staff or students. We hope to increase that number this year because who better to inspire our student body?
